Gary Dimmock is an investigative reporter who has won several awards for enterprise reporting, including the inaugural National Newspaper Award for Explanatory Work in 2002, and the top Canadian Association of Journalists award for investigative reporting in 2008.
Over the years Gary has worked for six newspapers (five daily, one weekly) and taught journalism at Ottawa’s Algonquin College. He has filed stories both nationally and across North America, covering the school shootings in Taber and Dawson College, the tainted water scandal in Walkerton, and the story from Lower Manhattan on Sept. 11, 2001. He has also worked from Benin, Istanbul, Rwanda and Doha, where he filed daily newspaper, television and radio reports on the U.S. invasion of Iraq.In his spare time, Gary is also a gardener.
